建築家の手のかけ方を知る
先日、ある建築家のオープンハウスに行って来た。オープンハウスとは完成お披露目会であり、完成した建築を世に問う最初の機会である。
建築家によって建築に対する考え方が違うし、ある一定レベル以上の建築だから、良し悪しを見る訳では無い。
それは、例えば、星付きのレストランに行けば、美味しいの当たり前であり、シェフによって個性というか違いはあるので、そこは自分の好みに合うかもあるが、完成度とか、手のかけ方とか、変態度というか、よくそんなことするな、普通そんなことするか的な所を楽しみに行くのだが、建築も同じ。
ただ、建築の場合は自分もつくるから、その建築に対する建築家の手のかけ方の密度みたいものはすぐに手にとるようにわかるので、そこが一番刺激になる。
納め方や材料やその使い方、仕様は今まで知らなかったことがあったりすると勉強にもなるが、昔、私が20代の頃、設計事務所に入った頃はネットもパソコンも無かったので、そういう生の情報が貴重だったが、今はネットなどで調べれば、自分が欲しい情報、例えば材料や器具など、納め方まで、簡単に手に入るので、ネットで手に入らない情報、今はそれが生の情報、例えば、先程の建築家の手のかけ方の密度みたいなものを感じることができるのがオープンハウスの良いところだと思っている。
