バーチャルの建築にも価値を

デジタル化されたものは作品にはならないのか。

絵画も書もキャンバスや半紙に描くから、絵画や書として価値があり、モニター上でソフトを使って同じような作品をつくり、データでやり取りしたら、誰もそれに絵画や書としての価値を見出さない、他の、デジタル作品としての価値はあるだろうが。

建築も同じで、バーチャルの中で建築を構築することができで、その中に入って体験することができても、そこに建築としての価値は無い。

何が違うのか、実体かデータの違いにどこまで意味があるのかと考えてみても、よくわからない。

キャンバスや半紙だろうと、デジタルデータであろうと、作者の作品性は出るし、それは建築も同じ。作者の作品性があっても、実体で無ければ価値が無いのか。

ただ、建築の場合は実体でないと、そこに住めないし、事業性が無い。だから、絵画や書よりも余計に実体でないと価値を見出せないかもしれない。

そうなると、建築にとって価値を決めるのは、まず実体であることで、実体足り得るには、とりあえず、そこに住めるかどうかと事業性を満たせば良いならば、そこに住めるかどうかと事業性を満たせば、あとはどうでも良い、という解釈も成り立つ。

そうなると、他のことには価値は無く、デザインは単なる建築家の自己満足か付け足しか、それは違うから、バーチャルの中の建築にも価値を見出した方が良いし、それは近い将来にそうなりそうな気がする。
