ぎりぎりの我
京都近代美術館で開催されている「陶工・河井寛次郎」展では、河井寛次郎の言葉にも惹かれた。河井寛次郎が言葉を紡ぎ出す人とは思ってもいなかったので、その中でも
「表現されるぎりぎりの自分が、同時に、他人のもの」
「ぎりぎりの我に到達した時に初めて、ぎりぎりの他にも到達」
「自他のない世界が、ほんとうの仕事の世界」
の部分に惹かれた。自分の好きなものを自分で作ってみようとすると、独りよがりになり、結果、自分以外の他を排除するものしかできないように思ってしまうが、河井はそうではなくて、自分の好きなものをとことん突き詰めて、自分で作り得る最上級のぎりぎりのものは、自分以外の他にとっても最上級のぎりぎりのものであり、それは自分とか他とかを超越したところに存在するものであり、それが本当の仕事だという。
ぎりぎりの我について、その後、思いを巡らしたのは言うまでもない。
