余白を空間に
空間を使う側の気分を反映できるような余白をデザインすることに今は興味があり、その余白がどう展開するかに関心がある。
余白は単に何も無いところではなく、余白があることによって、余白以外の部分も引き立つ。
地と図の関係も含み、もっと多様な可能性や、何かと何かをつなぐ役割も担うのではないかと考えている。
余白があることによって、今まで特に関係が無かったもの同士がつながるのも面白いし、そこで関係性をデザインとして扱えるのが、さらに面白い。
では、余白とは何か、ときかれても、よくわからない。実体が無いもので、存在が希薄で曖昧なもので、だから、なかなかつながりを明確に意図しようとすると上手くいかない、しかし、つながりがわかると視覚的にもはっきりと見えてくる、それを空間にしようとする試み、まるでスイカパンの白い部分のように、見立てか。
