建築は工場
常にどこかで完結した建築をイメージしており、クライアントからの要望もそのイメージの中では他の建築的要素のうちのひとつであり、ひとつのループの中で数珠つなぎに物事が関連し展開して、また元に戻り、その運動が日々繰り返され生活をつくる。
建築はどこか、ちょっと古い言い方をすれば、生産工場のようであり、繰り返し日常が生産され、クライアントの要望は原材料に過ぎず、どのように加工し生産するかは工場の能力に依存する。
工場ときくと無機質のような感じを受け、抵抗感を感じる人もいるかもしれないが、建築では実際に生活が営まれ、その営みは自然発生的に現れるのではなく、意図した先に現れるので、その様は意図的に何かがつくられるという意味で工場に例えるのは理にかなっていると考える。
"Architecture is a factory"
I always imagine a building that is completed somewhere, and the request from the client is also one of the other architectural elements in that image, and things are related and developed in a string of beads in one loop. Then, it returns to its original state, and the exercise is repeated every day to create a life.
Architecture is somewhere, in a little old way, like a production factory, where everyday production is repeated, the client's request is nothing more than raw materials, and how to process and produce depends on the capacity of the factory.
Some people may feel resistance when it comes to factories, but in architecture, people actually live their lives, and their activities do not appear spontaneously, but appear ahead of their intentions. So, I think it makes sense to compare it to a factory in the sense that something is intentionally made.
