"Change every time"

When I think about it to make it, I always run into uncertainties. It wouldn't happen if you were always repeating the same thing, always in the same person, or in the usual way, but because you always add new elements, sometimes CAD as a tool you've been used to for decades is completely unknown. Since there are times when it is changed to something else, the work may not proceed quantitatively.

However, if you do not add new elements every time, you will unknowingly repeat the methods and thoughts that worked well in the past, and if you do so, what will happen each time will be different, but instead of facing it, stick to the past methods I do something that I force myself to apply, and as a result, there is some distortion, usually in myself.

That's why I face new things every time and try to take the best measures at that time, so I change every time. The other day, I wanted to work with a person who had been absent for more than 10 years, so I contacted him directly. When I heard the voice for the first time in a long time, I felt the passage of time, but I felt like I was completely absorbed in this project.

A96168E3-AA42-48A7-8B84-EC3838E1C464.jpeg

"Architecture of nature"

Sometimes you want to build a naturally created space.

It is necessary to build a certain model for the artificially generated space, which is almost the same in the naturally generated space, but the accuracy and complexity of the model are generated more naturally than the artificially generated one. The ones that have been made are overwhelmingly more accurate, and the degree of complexity is also different.

Since the artificial space does not reach the foot of the natural space, you may be in awe of the wonderful natural space. However, as a creator, I don't want to end there, I want to build it.

"Undiscovered space"

While I want to create architecture and spaces that I have never seen before, I also come across things that would be wonderful if they were built.

When I visited Katsunuma's winery, a vineyard was attached to the winery, and the space underneath where the bunches of grapes grow like shelves is a very interesting space when viewed constructively, just to build it. It's difficult, but I definitely wanted to build it.

Although it cannot be expressed well in the photograph, it looks irregular at first glance, and in reality, the regularly arranged artificial objects control the natural objects of the tree trunk and branches to create a space, and the branches and leaves on the ceiling surface create gaps. Created irregularly, so sunbeams add complexity to the space. The arrangement of diagonal pillars to apply tension to the shelves is also interesting.

It is an interesting space even though it was not intentionally constructed, especially in the natural modeling and space, there are many new worlds that have not been discovered in the architectural world yet. ..

"Preparation for architecture"

I feel the need to further chunk down the relationship with the city and the changing landscape.

There are things that are ubiquitous and unnoticed that tell the relationship, and just by touching it, the relationship becomes apparent at once, and we look for something that influences the relationship.

It is important to express it in words that are easier to understand, simpler, and less entangled, and only then can we be ready to take the form of architecture.

"Landscape as another person"

Thinking about architecture while consciously connecting with the changing landscape of the city means incorporating otherness other than architecture into the architecture, and is the driving force for the emergence of things that cannot be reached by just thinking about one architecture. become.

What to extract from the changing landscape, what to think of the landscape and its place as a different place, a different space, where to focus on the time axis connecting the past, present and future, or the flow of time In the process of thinking about what can be done for one building plan, width and depth are given.

CDA61A23-7B88-48B2-83D3-47ACAB155C00.jpeg

"Architecture that connects with the city"

Since I am visually connected to the city so much that my eyes get tired, I am exposed to various advertisements and information, and I wish I could control it without knowing it, but most of the time I can not control it, I do not know how to control it. In addition, my eyes may get tired and irritated.

If you don't try to connect to the city visually, your eyes won't get tired, but most people may not know how to connect to the city with a sense other than vision.

It is possible to connect with the city by touch rather than by sight, and in that case, architecture can contribute a lot.

Tactile sensation means, for example, walking to feel the undulations of the city on the soles of the feet. It is possible to feel the sense of touch through the sense of sight, but it is possible to cut out information that is tossed by the person who feels the sense of touch directly by removing the sense of sight. At that time, architecture facilitates connection with the city through the activity of walking.

B2FC274E-9AD1-4286-9107-378945BCD14C.jpeg

"Connecting to the city other than vision"

Convenience is visually appealing. Convenience is driven at a dizzying pace. You want to be convenient and at a reasonable distance, but you will be informed of what is efficient and what is fast. The city is full of things that appeal to convenience. There are many things that are already paralyzed and unnoticed.

If convenience characterizes a city, the connection between vision and convenience is also the connection between vision and city, and if the relationship goes too far, it becomes difficult for people to stay in the city so that they can be driven by something. ..

Think about connecting to the city with a sense other than the visual sense, blocking the connection with the city visually. For that purpose, it is first necessary to cut off from the convenience that appeals to the eyes, which may have a great influence on daily life, but architecture may contribute to connecting to the city with a sense other than the eyes. unknown.
