単なる模様だと思い見てみる時、ぼんやりと解像度を落としてみたら、密度の違いのみが浮かび上がった。さらに再度解像度を上げてみると、今度は密度の違いが地と図の関係にも見えてきて、そこに記号、そして新たな意味づけが浮かび上がる。

新たな意味づけは元のモノとのつながりが保持されたものだから、意味が何であれ他にはない唯一無二のモノになり、それが次への足掛かりとなる。

"The difference in density is a stepping stone"

When I thought it was just a pattern, I vaguely lowered the resolution, and only the difference in density emerged. When the resolution is increased again, the difference in density can be seen in the relationship between the ground and the figure, and symbols and new meanings emerge there.

Since the new meaning is that the connection with the original thing is maintained, it becomes a unique thing that has no other meaning, and it becomes a stepping stone to the next.

単なる模様だと見れば、全てのモノが一様になり、模様に意味付けしているだけに過ぎないと理解できる。

単なる模様だと見れば、元々のモノが持っている性質や性能や機能など、模様以外のことは全て消失する。

模様として捉え直せば、拘束した枠組みから自由になれ、展開できる範囲が広がり、汎用性が増すことになる。

"Simply pattern"

If you look at it as a mere pattern, you can understand that all things are uniform and just give meaning to the pattern.

If you look at it as a mere pattern, the connections that can be made to each other are just the patterns of the patterns, and there is nothing more than that.

If you look at it as a mere pattern, everything other than the pattern, such as the properties, performance, and functions of the original thing, disappears.

If you reconsider it as a pattern, you will be free from the restrained framework, the range that can be expanded will be expanded, and the versatility will increase.

模様は記号に変換でき、記号は意味を持ち、意味は一人歩きする。一人歩きした意味は元の模様とはつながらなくなる。つながらなくなった意味は模様に別の記号を与える。そして記号はまた意味を持ち、また一人歩きする。そしてと、段々と模様に意味が重層的になる。

模様であれば、そこら中に存在する。模様が模様で無くなる時が意味を見出した時とも言えるかもしれない。まず模様だと意識するところからはじめてみる。

If it is a pattern, it is everywhere. It may be said that the time when the pattern disappears from the pattern is the time when the meaning is found. Let's start from the point of being aware that it is a pattern.

汎用性を引き継ぐと考えた場合、建築において何が汎用性になり、何を次に引き継ぐか。

全く何も無くしてしまい、新たにつくることを想定する。今後の建築の流れとしてはリノベーションを範疇に入れることが現実的かもしれないが、今までのスクラップアンドビルドの中で解決をしておかなくてはいけないことを扱う方が今後の建築の流れに役立ち、また本質を突くものだと考えた。

スクラップアンドビルドでは前後の時間の流れに断絶が起こる。前後のつながりをつくる必要が無い場合もあるが、前後のつながりをつくる必要があるにも関わらず、つながりをつくらない場合も多い。デザイン手法が無いことが原因であり、つながりをつくることに一般的な価値を見出せないことも原因である。

スクラップアンドビルドでの前後の時間の流れにつながりをつくる試みは建築における主題になり得るものだと考えている。

It may be realistic to include renovation in the category of future architectural flow, but it is better to deal with what must be solved in the scrap and build so far in the future architectural flow. I thought it was useful and piercing the essence.

In scrap and build, there is a break in the flow of time before and after. In some cases, it is not necessary to make a front-to-back connection, but in many cases, it is not necessary to make a front-to-back connection. The cause is the lack of design methods, and the lack of general value in making connections.

We believe that attempts to connect the flow of time before and after scrap and build can be a subject in architecture.

経過していく時間の内容は人によって違うかもしれないが、経過していく時間がサイクルすることは同じではないかと考えた。時間のサイクルとは、はじまりがあり、終わりがあり、途中ではピークを迎える時があるということであり、時の経過と共に変化することであり、それは全ての人に訪れる。

時間がサイクルするということに建築の有り様を重ね合わせようと考えた。建築も時の経過、時間のサイクルから逃れることはできない。そこには記憶と愛着が詰まっている。もしかしたら時間のサイクルを通して見る建築の有り様は記憶と愛着そのものかもしれない。

さらに、全ての人に訪れる時間のサイクルを通して見る建築の有り様には個人の記憶や愛着を超えた汎用性が内在しているかもしれない。その汎用性を抽出し次に引き継ぐ。そうすれば、建築が新陳代謝を繰り返してもつなげることができる、記憶も愛着も。

"Take over versatility"

The content of the elapsed time may differ from person to person, but I thought that the cycle of the elapsed time would be the same. A cycle of time means that there is a beginning, an end, and a peak in the middle, which changes over time, which is visited by everyone.

I thought about superimposing the state of architecture on the cycle of time. Architecture cannot escape from the passage of time and the cycle of time. It is full of memories and attachments. Perhaps the state of architecture seen through the cycle of time may be memory and attachment itself.

Furthermore, the state of architecture seen through the cycle of time that all people visit may have versatility that goes beyond personal memory and attachment. Extract its versatility and take over next. That way, architecture can be repeatedly metabolized and connected, both in memory and attachment.

記憶をつなぐことはできるのだろうか。記憶を愛着と言い換えてもよい。愛着をつなぐことはできるのだろうか。個人の記憶や愛着の中に汎用的な要素を見つけ出すことができれば、それを手掛かりにデザインして一般解として受け渡し、つなぐことができるかもしれない。

それでは、個人の記憶や愛着のどこに着目し、汎用的な要素を抽出すればいいのか、と考えてみる。記憶は時間の経過が記録されたものである。ならば時間の経過の中で汎用的な要素につながるものを見つけ出そうとしてみる。ただ、単に時間の経過だけでは人によって違うので汎用的な要素を見つけ出すのは難しいかもしれない。しかし、時間はサイクルするということ自体は誰でも同じなので汎用性があるはずである。

次は時間のサイクルから汎用的な要素を見つけ出してみようと思う。

"To connect memories"

Is it possible to connect memories? Memory may be paraphrased as attachment. Is it possible to connect attachments? If we can find a general-purpose element in personal memory and attachment, we may be able to design it as a clue, pass it as a general solution, and connect it.

Then, let's think about where to focus on personal memory and attachment and extract general-purpose elements. Memory is a record of the passage of time. Then, over time, try to find something that leads to a general-purpose element. However, it may be difficult to find a general-purpose element because it varies from person to person simply by the passage of time. However, the fact that time cycles is the same for everyone, so it should be versatile.

Next, I will try to find a general-purpose element from the cycle of time.

ラップに包んだモノは、ラップが透明でも、直に見るモノとは違って見える。そこには透明なラップが見えているのであり、中身のモノが見えている訳ではなく、中身のモノがラップの模様のようになっている。

どこに焦点を当てるかで違いがあり、ラップに焦点を当てれば見えているのは透明なラップであり、中身のモノに焦点を当てれば透明なラップを透して中身のモノが見えていることになる。

別の見方をすれば、2つの焦点による違いを同時に成り立たせることができ、状況により焦点をいつでも切り替えることができるモノになっているとも言える。透明性を孕んだモノの面白さはこの焦点の切り替えができることである。

There is a difference depending on where you focus, if you focus on the wrap you can see the transparent wrap, if you focus on the things inside you can see the things inside through the transparent wrap become.

From another point of view, it can be said that the difference between the two focal points can be established at the same time, and the focal point can be switched at any time depending on the situation. The fun of things with transparency is that this focus can be switched.
