奥行き感
薄っぺらい平らな面に何を施せば奥行き感が出るのだろうかと考えてみた。もちろん、厚みを持たせれば奥行きはつくれるかもしれないが、ここで意図したいことは奥行きがある感じである。厚みを持たせても奥行き感が出せるとは限らない。しばしば目の錯覚で奥行き感が出たり、消失したりすることがある。その時実際には奥行き自体は無い。
薄っぺらさはそれだけでひとつの表現を指向することになる。そこから脱却したい時、厚みを増すことでは無く、目の前の物を違った表現にすれば脱却し別の物にできることに興味がある。
"A sense of depth"
I wondered what to do on a thin, flat surface to give it a sense of depth. Of course, if you give it thickness, you may be able to create depth, but what I want to do here is to have depth. Even if it is thick, it does not always give a sense of depth. Often, the optical illusion may cause a sense of depth or disappear. At that time, there is actually no depth itself.
Flimthiness alone directs one expression. When I want to break away from that, I'm interested in being able to break away and make something else by expressing the thing in front of me in a different way, rather than increasing the thickness.
