階段は異質の存在
設計において階段は特別な存在だという意識がある。昇降するためのものだからその機能を満たすだけで良いのだが、空間において何か異質の存在のような、機能などどうでも良い、むしろ昇降しない、ただそこにあるだけための階段をつくりたいとも思う。
だから、昇降する機能は当たり前のこととして、設計する時に考えることは空間の中でどのような在り方をするのか、どのようなつながりをつくるのか、どのように見せるのか、そして、昇降する機能が無くなっても存在価値があるのかということ。

Since it is for going up and down, it is only necessary to satisfy that function, but I do not care about the function, such as the existence of something different in the space, rather I would like to create a staircase that does not go up and down, just to be there. ..
Therefore, the function to move up and down is a matter of course, and when designing, what to think about in the space, what kind of connection to make, how to show it, and the function to move up and down are lost. But is it worth the existence?
