斜めが自由にする
プランに1本の斜めの線を入れてみた。斜めに向かい合うのは空間だが、その空間に意味を与えるのは人なので、人と空間が、人と人が斜めに向かい合う。
空間を細分化していくと、空間の意味や使い道が限定されていく。それをプランニングと呼び、空間の名前や部屋名が決まっていくのだが、同時に空間の自由度が奪われる。
だから、プランニングをして煮詰めても、それでもいろいろな要素を持ち合わせている空間をつくりたいといつも考えていて、そういう空間はそこにいる人によって意味や使い道が自由にコロコロ変わる。
そして、そういう空間を単純な方法でつくりたいといつも思う。例えば、それが斜めの線を入れることで、斜めは空間や人に動きを与え、動きが生まれれば、ある特定の意味や使い道に収斂することを避けることができるのではないか。しかし、斜めは扱いが難しい。
"Slanting is free"
I put a diagonal line in my plan. It is a space that faces diagonally, but it is people who give meaning to the space, so people and spaces face each other diagonally.
As the space is subdivided, the meaning and use of the space are limited. This is called planning, and the name of the space and the room name are decided, but at the same time, the freedom of space is lost.
Therefore, even if I plan and boil down, I always want to create a space that has various elements, and the meaning and use of such a space freely change depending on the person there.
And I always want to create such a space in a simple way. For example, by inserting diagonal lines, it may give a movement to a space or a person, and if movement is created, it may be possible to avoid converging on a certain meaning or purpose. However, it is difficult to handle diagonally.
