物と人がつながることに関心があり、フリーカップの制作では人の気分とつなげてみた。フリーカップの飲み口の厚みが不連続に変化しており、その日の気分で飲み口を選ぶと、厚みが違うから口当たりも違い、その口当たりの感触を唇に感じながら、その時の気分としっくりと合う所を選ぶと、不整形なカップ故に、飲み口の場所によりフリーカップの形が変わり、それはひとつとして同じ形の見え方になることはなく、気分によってフリーカップの見え方が決まるという物と人のつなげ方をした。
それと同じようなことを建築で考えているのだが、フリーカップと違い建築は動かない、だから、建築の中で動く要素を選択の対象とすることにした。ただもうひとつ、人は動くことができるので、人の動き、すなわち、アクティビティによって選択するということもできる。
人が気分によって居場所を選択すると、不整形なプラン故に建築の見え方がその都度変わるというルールで建築という物と人をつなげることはできる。あとは、気分で何をどのように選択するのか、そして、それが居場所を選択することになるのか、ここをもっと詳細に具体的にしているところである。
