形と結びつく
制作中のフリーカップは飲み口の厚みを変え、その日の気分によって飲み口の位置を選ぶことにより、フリーカップの見え方がその都度変わるようにした。
飲み口の位置を厚みによって選ぶということは、自分の口に当たるフリーカップの飲み口の感触を選んでいることになる。厚みの違いは、フリーカップとしての形の違い、形の変化になる。
感触そのものには形の情報が無いが、その感触を味わう人のアクティビティ、このフリーカップの場合でいうと飲み口に唇を当てること、を介すれば、感触と形が結びつく。さらにいえば、その感触を選ぶ時の判断基準を人の気分にすれば、気分と形が結びつく。
何事も形に結びつけることができれば建築になる、といつも考えているので、気分と建築を結びつけることを試みている。
"Connect with shape"
The thickness of the free cup under construction was changed, and the position of the mouth was selected according to the mood of the day so that the appearance of the free cup would change each time.
Choosing the position of the mouthpiece according to the thickness means choosing the feel of the mouthpiece of the free cup that hits your mouth. The difference in thickness is the difference in shape as a free cup and the change in shape.
There is no shape information in the feel itself, but the feel and shape are linked through the activity of the person who tastes the feel, in the case of this free cup, putting the lips on the mouth. Furthermore, if the criteria for choosing the feel is the mood of a person, the mood and shape are linked.
I always think that if everything can be connected to the shape, it will be architecture, so I am trying to connect mood and architecture.
