"Design biases"

I liked the idea of the Wajima-coated free cup which made the liquid put in the cup a part of the design very much.

Since the base of the lacquered lacquer is wood, it is more heat-insulating than a cup made of other glass, ceramics, etc. It is difficult to pass heat, so even if hot liquid is put, the cup itself is hot and it can not be held by hand There is nothing.

So it was easy to hold a free cup with liquid in your hand, put a drinking mouth on your lips, pour a liquid into your mouth while enjoying the feeling, irrespective of the temperature of the liquid, Even if liquid was also incorporated as part of the design of the cup, it was established. Because this is unique to lacquer-covered vessels, I also liked the design that I only got lacquer ware.

The problem is how to narrow down. How to narrow down from the 85 mm diameter of the drinking mouth to the part with the hand. I wrote out the final target shape here in words, so I will return there.

"By changing the thickness of the drinking mouth, the feeling when the cup hits the lips changes, so depending on the mood of the day, you can change the drinking mouth, by changing the drinking mouth, the way the cup looks changes, that day The appearance of the cup changes according to the mood of the cup "

To change the appearance of the cup by changing the drinking mouth, the shape of the cup is different depending on the viewing angle. That is, the cup itself must be asymmetrical in shape. There may be a problem of whether it can be made asymmetrically and whether it is possible to create a woodland or whether it will correspond with a wooden store of Wajima, but first, as it changes depending on the angle at which the appearance of the cup looks, it is asymmetric Think about how to narrow down so that it becomes.

By the way, changing the thickness of the drinking mouth means that the center of gravity of the cup is not the center. The balance of weight is biased.

When I started thinking about the design of the cup, I was thinking about designing the weight. Lacquer ware is very light, as the base is wood. Its lightness is also one of the merits of lacquer ware, but if the lacquer ware has a little more weight, for example, if you use hard and heavy wood to make a woodland, you can give the lacquerware itself different charm I thought that.

Somewhat disappeared that thought, we can not incorporate the fact that the balance of weight is biased into the design, how to narrow asymmetric part from the drink mouth to asymmetrical part, asymmetry is also biased in some meaning So, can you relate it well, and then to the place I felt beforehand that I could solve how to squeeze the part with the most troubled hands, on the eve of going to Wajima's painter Finally I arrived.
