デザインのある日常
北欧でデザインが盛んなのは、冬の間、雪に閉ざされて外出ができず家の中で過ごすため、どうしたら快適に暮らすことができるだろうかと工夫をした結果だという。
フィンランド、スウェーデン、デンマークと雰囲気はそれぞれ全く違う国だけど、街を歩いていると、何気ない窓の中に見える室内の様子が綺麗にデザインされているのがわかる。それもこなれている、生活とデザインが密着している感じがする。
ずっと家にいて、それが居心地が良く快適であれば、外に行きたいとも思わないし、家にいるだけで楽しい。
いつも、その時自分が好き物を部屋の真ん中に置いている、一番目に入るところ、部屋の真ん中に飾り棚を置き、好みの物をたくさん並べて、どこからでも見えるように。見ているだけで楽しいし、気分が華やかになる。
断捨離とは真逆で、好みの物が増える一方で、でも飾り棚のスペースには限界があるから、ローテーションでぐるぐると部屋の中の置き場を移動する。部屋の真ん中の飾り棚がメインで、その時の気分で、その時一番好きな物がその場所にくる。ずっと置かれている物もあるし、すぐにローテーションする物もあるし。
結局は、自分の居場所を快適にできないのに、外で快適な居場所を見つけようなんて無理だと思う。
北欧デザインの良さは、一言でいうと、洗練された親しみやすさ、だから、日常の生活に取り入れやすく、そのデザインされた物があるだけで、生活がお洒落に見える、それは、冬の間、人々の心を癒す。
"Everyday with design"
The reason why the design is thriving in Scandinavia is that it is the result of devising how to live comfortably in winter because it is closed in the snow and cannot go out and spends time in the house.
The atmosphere is completely different from Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, but when you walk around the city, you can see that the interior is clearly designed through casual windows. It feels good that life and design are in close contact.

I always put my favorite things in the middle of the room at the time. The first place is to place a cabinet in the middle of the room and arrange a lot of favorite things so that they can be seen from anywhere. It's fun just watching and it makes me feel gorgeous.
It's the exact opposite of discarding, and while there are more things to like, there is a limit to the space in the cabinet, so you can move around in the room as you rotate around. The cabinet in the middle of the room is the main one, and at that time, my favorite thing comes to that place at that time. Some things have been around for a while, others rotate quickly.
After all, if you can't comfortably be where you are, you won't be able to find a comfortable place outside.
