形式で形が決まり、そこには内容に当たる素材が元々存在しないから、その漆塗りが決まらない。その形式とは、飲み口の厚みを変えて、その日の気分で飲み口を選ぶと、フリーカップの見え方も変わるということと、輪島塗ということ。
形式の中に内容を、物質を含めてしまえば良いが、輪島塗にする理由は布着せがあるから口当たりが軟らかい、手で持った時に熱くないなど、ただ、そうすると漆の色は形式とは何も関係が無いので、何色でも良いことになる。
