"Window is a wall"

When I saw the tea room "Machian" by Senrihisa, which was reproduced at the exhibition before, I found a description that "I will leave the window and make a wall".

The window of Machian is simply a place without a clay wall, it is left without painting the clay wall in a square shape, there is nothing special about the method of making a window, and the difference between a window and a wall is that there is a clay wall. Depending on the way of thinking, "window is a part of the wall" or "wall is a part of the window", and it depends on whether you focus on the window or the wall. In the case of waiting hermitage, the area In terms of ratio, there are more walls, so "windows are part of the wall", but from a meta-cognitive perspective, "windows and walls are the same", "windows look different from walls", and "windows are walls". It may be a kind of "a kind of".

Since the window of the waiting hermitage has no meaning of a frame, it does not serve as a frame to cut out the outside scenery, and it is a device that projects only the outside transition on the wall and takes in the carefully selected nature, which is a kind of wall. Assimilate with the setting given to the tea room.

Although it is a window of Machian, there is something that attracts me as if it is not a window, and it is interesting to see the appearance that is not found in modern architecture, which tends to think of windows and walls as functionally separate.
