コンテクストの扱いが変わる
狭小の敷地が高さ3mの塀で囲まれていたら、その敷地に立った時にどのように感じるだろうか。見えるのは塀と空だけだろう。外界から全く孤立して、その場所だけが唯一の手掛かり、周辺環境が存在しない。
ならば、自らの場所をコンテクストとして設計をするしかない。コンテクストを扱うが周辺環境のコンテクストは扱わない。
実際にはなかなか高さ3mの塀で囲まれることはないだろうが、視界が遮られるだけでコンテクストの扱いが変わる可能性があることが面白いと思った。
"The treatment of context changes"
If a small site is surrounded by a 3m high wall, how would you feel when you stood on that site? You can only see the fence and the sky. Totally isolated from the outside world, that place is the only clue, and there is no surrounding environment.
Then, there is no choice but to design your own place as a context. It deals with the context, but not the context of the surrounding environment.
In reality, it wouldn't be surrounded by a wall with a height of 3m, but I found it interesting that the treatment of the context could change just by blocking the view.
