記録よりも記憶
長い開会式をずっと見てはいられないので、所々は見るというよりは聴いていて、場面が変わりそうになるとまた見て、パフォーマンスは食い入るように、入場行進はぼんやり、はっきりが波のようにくり返される感じなど、その時々で開会式という時間空間の中で思い思いに過ごすのは普段TVを見ないけれど心地良かった。
開会式という枠の中で見たり見なかったり、意識したりしなかったりのくり返しによってつなぎ合わされた映像だけが自分のものとして記憶に残り、自分だけの時間と空間が形成されていく。それは良くも悪くも記録よりも尊く、その積み重ねでしか見られない風景があるような気がする。
"Memory rather than record"
I can't watch the long opening ceremony all the time, so I listen to it rather than see it in places, and when the scene is about to change, I see it again. I don't usually watch TV, but it was comfortable to spend my time in the time space of the opening ceremony, such as the feeling of being returned.
Only the images that are connected by repeating seeing, not seeing, and not being aware of it within the frame of the opening ceremony remain in my memory as my own, and my own time and space are formed. It is more precious than the record, for better or for worse, and I feel that there are landscapes that can only be seen by stacking them.
