壁の可能性
茶室に入ると壁に注目してしまう、だから、茶室は内部空間だけで成り立っているように思えてしまう。
目線の先は常に壁に行き、そこから違う所に焦点が合わさるようなイメージがする。
その壁に様々な設えがしてある。そこにお茶会の主題が亭主によって散りばめられており、それを読み取るのもお茶会の楽しみであろうから、尚更、壁に意識が行く。
日常の中でこれほど、壁を意識することがあるだろうか。
壁に取り付くものは全て壁だとするならば、開口部もキッチンも収納も壁となる。そうすると、ほとんどのものが壁として扱えるし、壁になる。日常の生活は壁とともにある、壁を通して行われる、となる。お茶会での壁への意識も日常での延長として、うなずける。
もう少し日常の生活で壁に意識を持って行くとどうなるだろか、と考えてみる。壁として、開口部も、キッチンも、収納も考えてみる。それはただ単に、造り付けのものとしてではなくて、壁のバリエーションとして考えてみる。
床があって、壁があって、天井ないし屋根があれば、空間になる。開口部も、キッチンも、収納も、壁として扱うならば、その空間はどんどん抽象的になるだろう、開口部として、キッチンとして、収納としての機能は残るが、存在がどんどん薄れていくから。
もっと言えば、開口部も、キッチンも、収納も、壁として扱えば、抽象と具象のバランスをコントロールできる。
抽象と具象のバランスがコントロールできれば、日常の雑多なモノやコトと相性が良くなる気がする。雑多だと感じるのは、その空間の抽象度と合わないから。逆に言えば、雑多ではないのに、見た目上だけでも雑多に見せることができる、バランスをコントロールできれば、それをしているのがお茶会での茶室かもしれない。
壁に可能性ありかもしれない。

If everything that attaches to a wall is a wall, the opening, kitchen, and storage are walls. Then, most things can be treated as walls and become walls. Everyday life is with the wall and is done through the wall. The awareness of the wall at the tea party can be nodded as an extension of everyday life.
Think about what will happen if you bring your consciousness to the wall in everyday life a little more. As a wall, consider opening, kitchen, and storage. Think of it as a wall variation, not just a built-in one.
If there is a floor, walls, ceilings or roofs, it becomes a space. If the opening, the kitchen, and the storage are treated as walls, the space will become more and more abstract. The opening will function as a storage as a kitchen, but its existence will fade away.
More specifically, the balance between abstraction and concreteness can be controlled by treating the opening, kitchen, and storage as walls.
If you can control the balance between abstraction and concreteness, I feel that it will be compatible with everyday things and things. I feel miscellaneous because it doesn't match the abstraction of the space. To put it the other way around, if you can control the balance, you can show it just by looking at it, but if you can control the balance, you might be in the tea room at the tea party.
